Who is Coach Cliff?

Cliff is a sports and physical fitness enthusiast. From a young age, he followed his passion for sports and became a professional futsal (indoor football) player in the Canary Islands in Spain.

After years playing for a professional futsal club, he flew to Brazil where his roots are to get his qualification to teach Brazilian football. He went to a successful college in Sao Paulo, Brazil called Sitrefesp where he acquired his certificate from Associação Brasileira de Treinadores de Futebol (ABTF).

As a young aspiring coach, he went back to the UK to complete his Personal Training qualification from the YMCA. He knew he wanted to be a help people become good football players like himself and stay fit and healthy – but at this point, he didn’t know where his career will take him.

He wanted to travel and see the world – so he did. His last stop was Asia where he was offered a job as a swimming instructor at the very successful summer camp provider, Bangkok Dolphins.

That was over a decade ago and never looked back since. He never stopped learning, taking part in different courses and getting qualifications in swimming, Zumba and TRX training.

For years, he taught at some of the biggest international schools in Bangkok, including Bangkok Patana and Shrewsbury main campus as a football coach, providing after school activities.

At the same time, he became a freelance personal fitness trainer in the Marriott Hotel and the Racquet Club near the Sukhumvit road. His clients are mostly business professionals and mums who have a hectic schedule but would like to keep a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Currently, he is providing Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) in Bangkok’s the Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Bangkok Dolphins.

He has a natural ability to connect with children, teach them whilst having fun and disciplining them as needed.

Born in Brazil, raised in the UK where he spent his younger years in a children’s home, and worked as a professional futsal player in Spain.

All these factors combined made him what he is today: a qualified, compassionate, and experienced coach who genuinely love teaching children.
